About the Liberty Bell Corrosion Course

The Liberty Bell Corrosion Course (LBCC) provides systematic, progressive training in corrosion technology, with instruction presented by recognized specialists from industry, government, and academic fields. LBCC is made up of several independent courses held concurrently during the conference period. Each course is carefully designed to combine fundamental concepts with advanced technical information, all presented from a practical, real-world perspective.

Beginner Course

Basic Corrosion Control

A two-day course covering corrosion theory, coatings, galvanic and impressed current cathodic protection, stray current corrosion, field testing, and record keeping.

Field Application

Underground Corrosion Control

Interactive training focused on corrosion control fundamentals, troubleshooting, testing methods, and practical field applications for underground systems.

Advanced Course

Advanced Underground Corrosion Control

Advanced instruction covering cathodic protection troubleshooting, coupons, remote monitoring, in-line inspection, stray currents, induced AC, and line locating.

New Course

High Performance Coatings

A two-day course introducing corrosion control through protective coatings, including surface preparation, coating fundamentals, common coating failures, application equipment, safety considerations, and emerging coating technologies.

Rectifier Training and Troubleshooting

Classroom and hands-on training covering rectifier troubleshooting, repair procedures, basic electrical theory, and common rectifier types used in corrosion control.
