Our members create and follow industry standards that ensure the quality and safety of corrosion control practices. They also offer education and training programs that teach the latest techniques and technologies for corrosion prevention. Moreover, they conduct innovative research to develop new and better ways to protect materials from deterioration. And they publish books and articles that share their knowledge and expertise on state-of-the-art corrosion control methods.

The Liberty Bell Corrosion Course (LBCC) provides systematic and progressive coverage in developing corrosion technology as well as “state of the art” expertise presented by recognized specialists from industry, government, and scholastic areas. The LBCC is actually several independent, concurrent courses that are presented over the scheduled conference period. Each course is a well-designed mix of fundamental and advanced information presented from a practical point of view.

Professional Development Hours:

Attendance at the Liberty Bell Corrosion Course will provide Professional Development Hours for technicians and engineers who need training classes to maintain their certification.

Exhibitors will be on site to show their products and services between and after classes. Students are encouraged to spend their free time before and after classes in the exhibit hall.

Basic Corrosion Control
Director: Drew Haiko, Hatch

This program is a two day course to teach basic corrosion control. Speakers will be representatives from the corrosion control industry.  Classes on basic corrosion theory, coatings, galvanic cathodic protection, impressed current cathodic protection, stray current corrosion, field testing techniques and record keeping. Attendee completion certificates indicate professional development hours of training afforded through this course.

Underground Corrosion Control
Director: Walter Young, Corrpro Companies

This is an interactive course on corrosion control technology. Recognized experts from leading-edge companies will be presenting classes on a variety of topics. Instructors will emphasize basic theory, troubleshooting and testing, and advanced topics. Attendee completion certificates indicate professional development hours of training afforded through this course.

Advanced Underground Corrosion Control
Director : Joe Saxton, Colonial Pipe Line

This is an interactive course on cathodic protection technology.  Recognized experts from leading edge companies will be presenting classes on CP troubleshooting, the use of coupons, remote monitoring, in-line inspection, stray currents, induced AC and line locating.  Attendee completion certificates indicate professional development hours of training afforded through this course.

High Performance Coatings for Corrosion Control
Director : Brian McHale, Carboline

The 2-day agenda is designed to enhance industry knowledge on the principles of corrosion control through protective coatings.  Course offerings by recognized industry experts from leading established companies will be presenting classes on surface preparation, introduction to protective coatings, coating failures, and application equipment along with the hazardous and safety related issues encountered within the industry. Includes a demo and hands on instruction on abrasive blasting and application of protective coatings. Attendee completion certificates indicate professional development hours of training afforded through this course.

Rectifier Troubleshooting & Repair
Director : George Krewson, Matcor Inc.

Instructor: C. M. Nelson

The two day rectifier troubleshooting and repair course will include in-depth classroom as well as “hands-on” training covering techniques and procedures required to analyze problems and perform the necessary repairs on rectifier units. Course topics will include some basic electrical and cathodic protection theory along with an explanation of the various types of rectifiers that are used in the corrosion control industry. Will be instructed by C.M. Nelson. Class limited to 25 students, first come first serve, register early.

Lunch and Coffee Breaks will be provided both days of the Course.
There is plenty of free parking.
